The Designer's Steps
Definition: Someone who creates a custom graphic design and submits it to one of our fashion categories for competition.
If you are a designer you can create your own design.
Use old or new designs that you think would look good on clothing gifts.
Download our ClothinGift Guidelines for an up-to-date list of our most current fashion patterns. We provide all of your patterns in one easy to download file.
Choose from three formats: Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw or Macromedia Freehand.
If you can't design in one of the above, we are sorry, then you're not a designer.
Next, set up your personalized gift shop.
It's free to set up your very own web site and gift shop with ClothinGift. We have provided you with many free Myspace layouts to make it quick and easy.
Start with t-shirts or start with tote bags, or start with any of the six customized fashion categories.
You can join the competition in one of the following apparel categories: t-shirts, bags, clothing, pets, hats or accessories.
Submit several designs in one fashion category or one design into several categories.
Review of your design will take place within 24 to 48 hours after you have submitted your design.
Your design must pass the review stage before being accepted into the competition.
Once your design has been approved, the voting begins.
Voting on your design by our community will last for 7 days after your design has been accepted. All designs are voted on and ranked for the same length of time.
Your design's ranking will show up in your gift shop profile in real-time during the voting period. You can follow the results of your design and compare them to the overall scoring of other designs while voting is taking place.
ClothinGift has an Election Day for each of our fashion categories.
Elections take place at 12:00 noon Pacific Standard Time for each of our six fashion clothing categories. Each day of the week a winner is elected from one of the categories.
Monday is T-Shirts
Tuesday is Bags
Wednesday is Clothing
Thursday is Dog Fashion
Friday is Hats
Saturday is Accessories
When the voting has ended, your overall score will be shown beside your design. You and your design will then need to wait until Election Day to know if your design is nominated to become a winner.
On Election Day the ten top designs in each of the categories are nominated as winners, but they have not yet won.
The results of each contest must first be reviewed by our Election Committee before the final winner is selected.
Our Election Committee validates the results for accuracy and reviews each of the designs for compliance to our guidelines.
The process takes from 8 to 24 hours.
After the Election Committee validates the voting, the true winners are elected.
Upon election of the winners, points are automatically credited to the winner's profile.

4 Category Winners 5,000 points
Top 5 Runners-up 500 points
There are no losers.... well almost.
At ClothinGift we like to say that there are no losers in our competition.
All designers who submit designs for competition receive 300 gift certificate points.
Additionally, the best designs go on to become products and are available for purchase.
During the competition, designs are not produced and are not available for purchase.
ClothinGift does not accept all designs submitted in the competition as products after Election Day. Our competition is developed to create a community of high fashion design work, not of just any design that's been submitted.
On Election Day our logarithm determines a unique product creation threshold for each competition which depends on many criteria.
All designs which surpass the logarithms criterion are automatically created into products and become immediately available for purchase by the public.
